What is Reston Festival, Inc.?

Reston Festival, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity that was created to plan and present the Reston Festival.  Although we work very closely with both RCC and RA (they each contribute substantial resources to the festival each year), we are not affiliated in any way with either organization.  Almost all of our proceeds are poured back into each year's event and the remainder are contributed in support of educational programs at established Reston-based nonprofit organizations.  We are volunteer-driven and we have almost zero overhead - your donation dollars are well spent.

Although it may be larger than in years past, community spirit still drives this celebration.  The Reston Festival strives to showcase the best local entertainment talent, artisans, businesses and community resources in celebration of the birthday of Reston.  The Festival emphasizes the importance of volunteerism and community involvement by introducing Reston residents and businesses to a wide array of volunteer organizations in and around Reston.  Call 703-435-7989 for more information.

Brief Reston Festival History

This celebration began in 1967 at Lake Anne Village Center.  Sponsored solely by the Reston Citizens Association (RCA) for most of its long history, the Reston Festival eventually evolved (in 1999) into an enduring community partnership uniting the strengths of the RCA, the Reston Association (RA) and the Reston Community Center (RCC).  In 2003, the Festival moved from its long-time home at Lake Anne to its current home at the Reston Town Center, which is a significantly larger venue.  In 2005, Reston Festival, Inc. was formed with its own Board of Directors.  In 2006, Reston Festival, Inc. was accepted by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization.
